Northern Michigan and Traverse City have the opportunity to produce professional cyclists and mountain bikers. This is due to the rich cycling community found in Traverse City. Unfortunately, opportunities for these athletes to compete at the highest level and make a career out of their strengths and talent are very limited. 

The Great Lakes Off Road Initiative will be committed to supporting athletes through the ranks of this sport. From competing at local Michigan races and the most popular races around the country along with some UCI races to qualify for UCI world cups. Our goal is to create a team capable of developing and supporting top riders so they can reach their dreams in the sport.

Over the years we hope to continue the expansion and support of the team. We want to help athletes with talent and skill to pursue their dreams, along with helping young varsity athletes find their feet in the sport. We know the struggles Michigan cyclists can face when they want to advance to the professional level. The GLORI team will be a stepping stone to the professional level, giving worthy athletes the resources needed to race with the best.  

This team will compete at many local Michigan races along with the most competitive races in the county. Our goal is to compete with the best athletes across the country and put Traverse City on the map for producing world class athletes.
